Senior engineer with ~20 years building and operating production systems across web,
e-commerce, legal tech, and now data engineering at scale. Built and shipped products
end-to-end — from LAMP-era websites to distributed systems processing billions of events.
Led teams, shaped technical direction, and stayed hands-on throughout.
Currently focused on data platform engineering: high-throughput pipelines, multi-DC
reliability, and the observability that keeps it all running. Comfortable owning systems
in production (build → run), aligning stakeholders, and making pragmatic trade-offs under
real constraints.
In the age of AI and agentic systems, I'm interested in building robust data foundations
and reliable infrastructure that make intelligent applications possible. I use AI-assisted
development to shorten delivery cycles while improving testing, documentation, and
operational safety.
Since 2015 my priority #1 is my daughter.

Professional Experience
Evolving a data analytics platform in a high-scale, multi-datacenter environment.
Building and operating pipelines that sink high-volume event streams through Go, C#,
and Python services from Kafka into ClickHouse. Working with Protobuf and gRPC for
efficient data serialization and service communication. Migrating the data platform
from on-prem to a hybrid cloud setup, applying a headless lakehouse strategy with
Iceberg and Delta tables (migration path toward Databricks).
Strong focus on production ownership: observability, incident response, safe rollout,
and continuous improvements that keep latency, cost, and reliability in check.
Full ownership of idea, concept, strategy, realization, and people. Built and led a
6-person development team plus DevOps, organized into two product-focused squads.
Key focus was probing the legal tech market with greenfield products, establishing
platform fundamentals for rapid go-to-market. Technologies included PHP/Symfony,
API-Platform backends with React.js and Vue.js frontends for B2B2C legal document
assembly tools and access-to-justice platforms.
Led up to 14-person cross-functional team building customer service technology
components for one of Europe's largest e-commerce platforms. Designed and implemented
case management systems, searchable knowledge bases, tracking solutions, and customer
account tools. Tech stack included PHP, Vue.js, GraphQL, MySQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ,
Go, Docker, Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.
First in-house developer for DHL's digital freight platform startup. Responsible for
transitioning incubated software to in-house maintenance. Worked with React.js and Symfony.
Technical project and product management, primarily managing external service providers.
Bootstrapped unified authentication system, IAM, and SSO infrastructure.
Full-service agency work on long-running B2B websites and software projects.
Universalist approach with full customer-facing responsibility. Notable projects
include a Unity3D AR application in C# and a weather app backend handling
nationwide data ingestion and push alerts.
Denkfabrik spin-off startup. Full responsibility for product and technical development
of a recruitment platform focused on early-stage remote candidate qualification.
Acquired fundamentals of web development on LAMP stack. Built websites with HTML, CSS,
JavaScript, and TYPO3. Learning by doing in the era of IE5 and early web standards.
Early-stage fair fashion startup. Ran the blog and connected with the blogosphere.
Involved in all operational aspects including order processing and fulfillment.
